Growing up next to a mall, as a skateboarder, there is something that is inside of you that just knows that Mall Shops are the worst of the worst. I mean they are ran by a dude in a suit and not skateboarder owned. A mall shop is a corporation, not locally owned.
Revolution is locally owned skate shop that has been around for a long time. Although they have changed hands with a few different owners over that time. Maybe the third times a charm or the fourth time, for Revolution to do something rad for the DESERT skateboard scene (Video? Demos?).
I don't know if they are just doomed to fail. or what? But maybe with some new blood, things can really start going. A friend of mine, Jacob Honeycutt, took the lead in the Skate department. So I guess time will tell, but I have to say the dude is motivated (kinda). To get shit done all for the sake of skateboarding. by building spots, or waxing new shit to shred. The dude puts in work!
So with a new team in the works, a possible shop video, and the financial means to back them maybe they can, maybe they wont. Thats why I had to ask the Iceman himself..
Alright where is the Ice Man from?
I was born in Arkansas in 92 moved out here to the desert in 7th grade. Lived in Indio then moved to Palm Desert Middle and just meet everybody there and started to skateboard. It was rad growing up out in Arkansas!

haha no man it was rad, growing up out in the woods doing random shit as a little kid. I have had people even teachers ask me like "did they have computers or even electricity?" haha It was just super small town. I'm happy i moved out when i did though! Everyone my age now, either has a baby or is devoted to church or addicted to Meth. I'm not trying to do none of that haha
Hey any reason why they call yo the "The Ice Man"?
Hahaha no man! It's pretty much just Cristian's word play when we are drinking or smoking it'll start with Ice or icing and all of the sudden I'm the Ice Man, but fuck it i'm hyped on it whatever haha
how did you get involved with Revolution?
Pretty much man Utility closed, I had gotten a part time job at this shitty little shop and it fucking sucked! One day after work I'm eating pizza and Jeff Paige gives me a call and is like "Hey Bobby wants to meet you come in!". So I go in and Bobby pretty much just told me you know. When he bought Revolution, they where at a very low point and he HAD to bring business back up. So he opened the Mall Store and that helped him out a lot! So now that they are comfortable and in the position that they are in now. He really wants to get a skate team together and Bobby wants me to help him get that started and going. Really just to get shit going skate wise, cause up till now he hasn't been able to do it because of money. So now we are getting a camera soon and Shop decks by the middle of November, that'll get the ball rolling.
As far as a team goes I really want to make this work cause before with Utility it was a fucking joke we never put shit out, you know? so with a tight crew we'll really get it going once that camera comes in

Do you think it'll be hard to get rid of that Mall Shop smell?
Honestly dude, people are going to talk shit on the mall and i understand that, but i like i said Bobby bought Revolution even when it was losing money and he had to make a Business Decision, and IT's WORKING. It's sick cause he's into all this shit, street wear and skateboarding. The shop looks amazing with everything you need and you know we know it's a skate shop in the mall but Bobby and all of us still want to push skateboarding anyway we can, with demos and events.
Having this shop here is allowing us to do things we haven't had a chance to do to before. You know Bobby is not trying to put out anything that isn't true or real. So fuck it if people need to hate!
